The part that took the most time was building the website. I am pretty fast and to customize a website with the things I needed in it would still take me about an hour. It is probably helpful if I share with you some of the things I need a website to include:
- The website must load fast so that search engines give it preference.
- Have the correct page title, headline, keyword meta data and page description so that search engines can easily identify what the page is about and rank it accordingly.
- Have a privacy and terms of use page (Google loves this). When you have these pages you are helping users learn more about you and it makes them feel comfortable.
- Have analytics tracking installed so that you can see what keywords are driving the traffic and where the traffic is coming from
- Include the ability to integrate a name capture form so that I can collect email addresses from visitors. Building a list is a great idea for building a long term asset.
- A well planned sales letter style flow so that people could visit the site and easily understand what they should do next.
- A sitemap and RSS feed so that search engine robots would be crawling all over the site bring valuable ranking power.
